How do you evaluate the situation in the Middle East in 2017?
During 2017, many developments took place in the Middle East, which will have a great impact on the coming years as well. During the 20th century, the nationalistic state system was built and took shape in Iraq. In recent years, this system has bankrupted. Political, social and economic problems created a state of dissatisfaction among the peoples, and the wrong policies practiced by the ruling regimes created the revolution, but the fact that these revolutions were not organized and the systems that were built after was followed by the wrong policies, these problems are still ongoing and a good example of this is what is happening now in Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey is also the main cause of these crises which does not seek to solve problems and radically wrong policy pursued by the ruling regimes.
In 2017, the crisis continued, wars were exacerbated and many forces were created under various labels. The whole world witnessed many events. But the center of these events and crises was the Middle East, especially Syria and Turkey, which created many terrorist groups, including mercenaries of ISIS, but all these schemes failed, especially with the liberation al- Raqqa and Mosul, which were one of the most important strongholds and their focal points and this event is one of the important events that took place during the past year.
How do you assess the situation in Bakur Kurdistan and what is the Turkish role in Syrian crisis?
The Turkish state and to hide its internal failure intervened politically and militarily in all the neighboring countries and played a perverse role in the events of the Middle East, but the policy followed by the Turkish state failed, especially in Syria, as it would like to participate in the liberation campaign, In Iraq, but it has been rejected and failure in all its plans, and it can also be said that the Turkish interior was very tense as the forces of the Guerrilla showed heroic resistance in the cities of Bakur Kurdistan(North Kurdistan), saying that the Turkish state spent a tense year that the dictatorship and corruption pursued by Erdogan government reached the Turkish state has accepted multiple crises.
How do you evaluate the developments that Iraq witnessed during the year, including liberation of Iraqi areas of mercenaries advocated and the referendum of Kurdistan, which led to the entry into the region in a new crisis?
In Iraq, the joint forces played a clear role in breaking the back of the mercenaries, but the non-democratic policy adopted in Iraq is the main reason for creating crises. The attacks on Kirkuk and the Iraqi government’s opposition to the results of the referendum on the independence of Başûr, and through recent events in Başûr and the uprising against many parties it is clear that the ruling authorities in Iraq and Başûr Kurdistan must follow a democratic system.
What is Iran’s position on the crises in the Middle East?
Iran has played a clear and fundamental role in the Middle East through its intervention in many countries, including Iraq, Syria and Yemen politically and militarily and followed its classic policy not within Iran but outside and in neighboring countries to turn the internal danger and take the danger from Iran to the Middle East.
What about the situation in northern Syria?
North Syria witnessed historic changes and major steps, especially from the political point of view. Serious steps were taken towards the democratic federalism of northern Syria and the electoral law, and all the decisions taken by the peoples were implemented such as the first and second stage of the elections of the local councils.
In addition to these developments, liberation of al-Raqqa, al-Tabqa and the eastern countryside of the city of Deir ez-Zor were important victories on the military level, which had positive results not only on north Syria, but on all Syria.
Last word you would like to convey to Syrian people on the occasion of the new year?
2018 will be a year to build a federal system, and it will be a year of struggle. We must be objective and accept that it will be a year of struggle and building together.
