NEWS DESK – Syrian Council condemned the democratic policies of genocide carried out by Turkey against the Syrian people and the continuity of these policies today in Afrin, and called on International Community and International Human Rights Organizations to break the silence and not to participate in the crimes of Turkey by taking a real situation.
The text of the statement:
“The Turkish army continues to occupy Afrin city and its countryside, taking advantage of the silence of International Community for its crimes against humanity and the historical existence of Kurdish people in this area. The Turkish government’s plan to annihilate the Kurdish national presence and change the demography of the area Turkey began the process of settling the families of mercenaries who are fighting under the command of Turkish army and their withdrawal from camps of Turkey, and distribute the houses of Afrin villages after they emptied the Kurdish villages from their people as a result of brutal shelling with heavy artillery and warplanes, In order to displace them and change the demographic nature of the area; most recently has happened in Badina village and 9 civilians had martyred.
Therefore, we call upon the people of Afrin to cling to their lands and villages and not to leave their homes as much as possible and call on all the people who have been forced to leave their homes to return to them as soon as possible, especially in areas where they are less likely to be exposed to danger. We urge the people to take this appeal in order to thwart the Turkish attempts to empty Afrin of its Kurdish people.
We at Syrian Democratic Council strongly condemn the policies of genocide that Turkey has historically committed against Kurdish people and the continuity of these policies today in Afrin. We call upon International Community and International Human Rights Organizations to break silence and not to participate in the crimes of Turkey by taking a situation and we strongly condemn the deterioration of humanitarian situation in eastern Ghouta, which is under siege due to the international inability to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2401, which stipulates the start of truce that includes all Syrian territory, which is likely to be true that there is a swap paid for by the people of both Ghouta and Afrin.
We also call on UN Security Council to respect its resolutions and to implement them as soon as possible, especially with regard to recent resolution 2401. “” We support the achievement of a political solution in Syria that will end the tragedy of Syrian people and lay solid foundations for finding suitable formulas for coexistence between all the components of Syrian people and their political forces.
